Mom is going to be in the hospital until her blood counts come back up, and that might be a while. Chemotherapy affects fast-growing cells, like tumors, but also hair, nails, the lining of your mouth, esophagus, stomach, nails and bone marrow, among others. So that's why her blood has been affected.
On a positive note, she doesn't have a fever and her heart's been rhythmic and regular. AND a bunch of church friends sent a card they all signed, so she was happy. AND we've gotten a call from my cousin Vanessa from Puerto Rico AND Mom's on the phone with Uncle Jimmy right now.
In addition to good vibes for Auntie Nita, let's send some over to Auntie Kelley (Uncle Jimmy's wife), whose grandfather passed away yesterday.
