It's Day 1 of chemotherapy. It's now a little after 1pm and we got here at 9am. Her treatment is supposed to last about 5 hours. Mom is doing well; we're getting a little antsy from having to stay in one place for so long but we've got books courtesy of Queena, a laptop and an iPod to keep us entertained. Mom had her first iPod experience this morning and now is reading "Stories of Life in Old Hawaii". She just told me that the way to keep an octopus from flailing around after you've caught it is to bite it right between the eyes. Nice!
Today they're going to give us a calendar of all Mom's treatments and scheduled lab tests. It's almost a full-time job keeping her schedule straight so I'm glad I'm here. For more info on the type of chemo Mom's getting, CLICK HERE.

So my loves, that is it for this post. Make sure to keep in touch and let me know if you have any questions. Take care!

Hi Lu,
You look like the "CHEMO-QUEEN
sitting there looking so lovely.
How wonderful that you could visit your family in San Diego before beginning your first treatment. I wish you could come to Hawaii and visit everyone here but I guess we all will just have to be patient until you are all finished with your treatment. We're looking forward to the day you are able to visit Hawaii again.
Lu, we are praying that you will feel good throughout your treatment. Please be assured that we are praying for you daily.
Luana, thank you so much for setting up this blog to share your mom's progress and photos with all of us who love her. You are an awesome daughter!
