Uncle John just came in with news on Uncle Michael. The flow of information coming out of Pacific Beach hasn't been all that steady but we're working on it! This info supersedes anything else I've told you so far. It's a strange game of adult telephone our family plays but it keeps things interesting, right?
Uncle Michael has Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma; previously the word was it was Hodgkin's but that was not so much correct. Dr. Hampshire at Scripps Health in San Diego is his doctor. His specific form of cancer is Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. He is in Stage 3 and starts chemotherapy tomorrow at 10:20am so send your warm thoughts his way!
Uncle Michael will be getting CHOP chemo; CHOP stands for the drugs cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan), doxorubicin (Adriamycin), vincristine (Oncovin) and prednisone. Uncle Michael affectionately calls it his "Chop Suey".
There will be a fundraiser for Uncle Michael on or around October 21st and I'll let you know more as it develops.

Aloha Lu and Luana! Wow, I love the new hair do! Very chic! Maybe I will do that too this year!
Just wanted to let you know the Halau is dancing for you both on Saturday and our practice went very well.
I offered to post the video on Utube but my hula sisters shot me down. I think you will get a CD in the mail Luana.
